a museum exhibit intended to create the defining show on one of the most important cultural phenomena to come out of the Nordic countries in recent decades.
The Museum of Danish America is bringing the story of 21st century Nordic food culture (Finland, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden) to museums and communities across the United States. This traveling exhibition explores the values that bring together traditional flavors, local producers, and innovative techniques.
In addition, the Nordic Cuisine YouTube channel brings stories to people wherever they are - from recipe demonstrations to restaurant tours, to interviews with influential chefs and foodies. Stay in touch with the Museum of Danish America to learn about the tour, programs and events, and online access to enriching information.

“The influence of ‘New Nordic Cuisine’ can be seen in restaurants, farm-to-table efforts, and public policy around environment, agriculture, and nutrition. The 21st century has seen an evolution in Nordic food culture that focuses increasingly on regional producers, seasonal ingredients, sustainable food systems, and modern nutrition science. This movement reflects Nordic values of caring for the environment, promoting the health and wellbeing of all citizens, and celebrating the unique natural and cultural resources of the Nordic region.
- Michael Tetzschner, President of the Nordic Council
