SPARK! is cultural programming that fosters connection & encourages lifelong learning. 

SPARK! programs are held from 10-11:30 am on the first Tuesday of every month. 

SPARK! programs feature interactive exhibit experiences—participants engage in lively discussions, object handling, and other activities. All programs begin with a coffee social and snacks.

This programming is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Andersen and Andersen-Lopez families of New York and Connecticut. Additional programming support comes from the Shelby County Community Foundation.

The SPARK! Alliance is a foundation of museums, nature centers, and cultural centers committed to the inception, development, facilitation, and sustainability of cultural programs for lifelong learners. The Museum of Danish America is the first museum in Iowa to join the SPARK! Alliance after staff completed trainings in early 2023.
