A Smorgasbord of Danish ImmigrantsPeter was born in Denmark about 1889. At the age of 14 he immigrated to the Jacksonville, Iowa, area, and first worked as a farm hand at Niels Ohms’ place. He then studied photography in Effingham, Illinois. As early as 1909 he was taking pictures in Jacksonville, Kimballton, and Elk Horn. He died by suicide in Elk Horn in 1916 and is buried in the Jacksonville cemetery.
