A Smorgasbord of Danish ImmigrantsKirstine Hansen was born on the island of Ærø, in southern Denmark, in 1826. Following the death of her husband, Rasmus Hansen, Kirstine, at the age of 62, immigrated to the Jacksonville, Iowa, area to be near three daughters who had immigrated earlier. She died in 1895 and is buried in the Jacksonville cemetery. This photograph was taken ca. 1890.
