A to Z to A Family Histories Household FurnishingsThis sampler was probably stitched by a teenage girl from a prominent Danish family as proof of her proficiency in needlework. When the sampler was framed in 1936, a genealogy was written on the back that traces the family from Johan Budtz, the mayor of Randers, Jutland, in the early seventeenth century, through the twentieth century. The most recent name on the family chart is Lena Flindt (Graff), who donated the sampler to the museum in 1994.
